Agentic Constitutional Security
HoloScript implements a multi-layered security model designed specifically for autonomous agents interacting with untrusted internet-sourced data. This model, termed Agentic Constitutional Security, shifts protection from reactive runtime filters to proactive structural design.
1. Compiler-Level Lexical Firewalling (HS010)
The most innovative layer is the Lexical Firewall. The HoloScript compiler (HoloScriptCodeParser) rejects any script that even mentions dangerous keywords at the syntax level.
- Blocked Keywords:
process,fs,require,eval,exec,spawn,child_process,constructor,prototype. - Enforcement: If these tokens appear (respecting word boundaries), the compiler returns a
SecurityViolation (HS010). - Philosophical Shift: Traditional security attempts to sandbox the execution of these functions; HoloScript removes them from the dictionary of the agentic world.
2. Declarative Security Traits
Security intentions are expressed as first-class language constructs (traits), making them easier to audit and harder to bypass.
@security_sandbox: Forces an object or agent into an isolated, zero-trust execution environment.@guardian: A higher-order agent trait that acts as a middleware validator for all intents.@rate_limit: Prevents "drain" attacks on resources or treasuries.@circuit_breaker: Monitors failure patterns and halts compromised agent flows.
3. The Guardian Pattern
Architectural "innovation" lies in the SecurityScannerAgent and Guardian patterns. This is "Agentic Governance"—where specialized agents are given the constitutional role of auditing other agents' code and intents before instantiation.
4. Spatial Security Sovereignty
In spatial computing environments, security is often bound to simulation coordinates. An agent might have @full_access within a specific coordinate volume (safe zone) but be automatically restricted to @sandbox levels when moving into sensitive volumes.
Innovation Verdict: By treating security as a syntax-level and trait-level construct, HoloScript allows agents to operate in adversarial environments with a structural guarantee of safety that traditional "bolted-on" security models cannot provide.
